Worked method on a hypothetical value
Assume a CIF value of USD 10,000. Read the duty rate for your 12-digit line from the current tariff; call it d. Call the VAT rate v.
| Step | Formula |
|---|---|
| Duty | 10,000 × d |
| VAT base | 10,000 + duty |
| VAT | VAT base × v |
| Total at the border | duty + VAT |
We do not print a rate here because rates change. Purserhouse does not yet calculate Saudi duty: the ZATCA tariff is not available to it as a file, so a Saudi duty figure is answered as “not calculated”. Check the current line on the ZATCA tariff yourself.
Why the 6-digit code is not enough
The invoice from the factory often shows 8516.79. The Saudi declaration needs 12 digits, and different 12-digit lines under the same 6 digits can have different treatment.
