Per 19 CFR 149.3(a) . The first eight are due no later than 24 hours before the cargo is laden on the vessel; the last two as early as possible and no later than 24 hours before arrival at a US port (149.2(b) ).
- 1. Seller: name and address of the last known entity by whom the goods are sold or agreed to be sold (the owner, if not sold).
- 2. Buyer: name and address of the last known entity to whom the goods are sold or agreed to be sold (the owner, if not sold).
- 3. Importer of record number: IRS number, EIN, SSN or CBP-assigned number of the entity liable for the duties.
- 4. Consignee number(s): IRS number, EIN, SSN or CBP-assigned number of the party in the US on whose account the goods are shipped.
- 5. Manufacturer (or supplier): name and address of the entity that last manufactures, assembles, produces or grows the goods, or of the party supplying the finished goods in the country they leave.
- 6. Ship-to party: name and address of the first deliver-to party after release from customs custody.
- 7. Country of origin: country of manufacture, production or growth under US import rules.
- 8. Commodity HTSUS number: at least six digits; usable for entry only if given at 10 digits or more by the importer of record or its broker.
- 9. Container stuffing location: name and address of the place where the goods were stuffed into the container.
- 10. Consolidator (stuffer): name and address of the party who stuffed, or arranged the stuffing of, the container.
Manufacturer, country of origin and HTSUS number must be linked to one another for each line. Each element is given for every good at the six-digit HTSUS level and at the lowest bill of lading level (the house bill of lading, if there is one). A widely recognised commercially accepted identification number may replace name and address for the seller, buyer, manufacturer, ship-to party, stuffing location and consolidator.
Check your ISF data on this page
Type what you have, or upload the filled template below. The check runs the same rule we run on your documents: it says which of the ten elements are given and which are missing, and whether each HTSUS number has at least six digits and is in the HTS. It checks presence and format, not whether the data is true, and it does not file the ISF: the ISF Importer or its authorized agent submits it through a CBP-approved electronic interchange system (149.2(a) ). Nothing you type or upload is stored.
Template
Download the ISF collection template (xlsx) . Send it to your supplier and your broker before booking closes, then upload the filled copy above to check it. If you send us the commercial invoice and packing list, we read them and tell you which of the ten elements they do not show.
